Visiting the end of the world

« Land of adventure », « Forgotten land » : these are just some of the nicknames given to this region of the world. If Patagonia remains so extraordinary and wonderful today, it is thanks to its isolation from the rest of the world. Perfectly preserved, its nature is inhabited primarily by wild animals. This little paradise on earth is in reality the end of the world, the last landmass before Antarctica, which lies just across the way. Visit Ushuaia, the southernmost city on our planet ! The region known as the « Land of Fire » is the point closest to Antarctica, inhabited mainly by humpback whales and sea lions.

Seeing penguins

Who hasn't enjoyed watching documentaries about penguins ? Visiting Patagonia will be your chance to encounter them in the wild, not in captivity... For Patagonia, this isolated region of the world, is home to numerous wild and endemic animal species. And naturally, you'll find thousands of penguins, who thrive in its clear waters and immense glaciers. Near Puerto Madryn, you'll find a protected area home to one of the world's largest penguin colonies. Magdalena Island hosts nearly 60,000 penguin pairs each summer. If you want to see King Penguins, visit Pinguino Rey Park : it's the only place in the world, apart from Antarctica, where these magnificent penguins live !

It goes without saying that you'll be able to observe other magnificent animals during your Patagonia trip. Valdés Peninsula, for example, is a paradise for whales and marine wildlife. You may also spot llamas or pumas in the mountains.

You can choose to take a cruise, or venture out kayaking to reach the foot of the glaciers. If you get the chance, stop by the « Marble Caves », these unique rock and ice formations found nowhere else in the world.

Among Patagonia's most renowned glaciers are Perito Moreno, which is approximately twice the size of Paris. Stable, it allows you to venture onto its ice with a guide and proper equipment.
